Terms & conditions
Welcome to the Rebecca Dale website.
These Terms & Conditions apply to your use of this website and to purchases made directly through the Rebecca Dale online store. By using this website or placing an order, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
Please read them carefully before making a purchase.
1. About Us
This website and online store are operated by Rebecca Dale Publishing.
Rebecca Dale is the pen name used in connection with the books, products and services promoted through this website.
For questions regarding an order or these Terms & Conditions, please contact us using the contact form provided on this website.
2. Website Use
The content of this website is provided for personal, non-commercial use.
You must not copy, reproduce, distribute, republish or commercially exploit any content from this website without prior written permission.
We reserve the right to update, change, suspend or remove any part of the website at any time.
3. Products
We aim to describe and display all products as accurately as possible.
However, colours and appearance may vary slightly depending on your device, screen settings and, where applicable, the printing or manufacturing process.
Special editions, sprayed edges, foiling and other individually manufactured elements may have minor variations between copies. These variations are not normally considered faults.
Product mock-ups may occasionally be used for products that have not yet entered or completed production. Where a product image is a mock-up, the final manufactured product may vary slightly.
4. Orders
When you place an order through this website, you are offering to purchase the selected products subject to these Terms & Conditions.
An order is not considered accepted until payment has been successfully processed and your order has been confirmed.
We reserve the right to cancel or refuse an order where reasonably necessary, including where:
a product is unavailable;
an incorrect price has been displayed;
payment cannot be authorised;
we suspect fraudulent activity; or
we are unable to fulfil the order.
If we cancel an order after payment has been taken, the amount paid for the cancelled item or order will be refunded.
5. Prices and Payment
Prices are displayed in the currency shown on the website at the time of purchase.
Any applicable delivery charges will be shown during checkout before you complete your order.
You are responsible for checking the total cost of your order before submitting payment.
For international orders, your bank or payment provider may charge currency conversion or international transaction fees. These charges are outside our control.
6. Pre-Orders
Some products may be available to purchase before their official release or before stock has arrived.
Estimated release, production and dispatch dates will be provided where possible but are estimates rather than guaranteed delivery dates.
Publishing, printing, manufacturing, freight and other circumstances outside our reasonable control can occasionally cause delays.
If a significant delay occurs, we will endeavour to provide an update where appropriate.
If we are ultimately unable to fulfil a pre-order, you will receive a refund for the affected product.
7. Signed and Personalised Books
Some books may be signed or personalised at the customer's request.
Please check names, spellings and personalisation requests carefully before submitting your order.
Where a product has been made or clearly personalised specifically for you, your usual statutory right to cancel an online purchase simply because you have changed your mind may not apply.
This does not affect your legal rights where an item is faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or otherwise not as described.
8. Digital Products
Digital products may include ebooks, bonus content, artwork, downloadable files or other digital material.
Digital products are licensed for your personal use only unless explicitly stated otherwise.
You must not reproduce, upload, share, distribute, resell or make purchased digital content publicly available.
Where you expressly agree to receive digital content immediately and acknowledge that doing so means losing your statutory cancellation right, you may lose your right to cancel once delivery or access to that digital content begins.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects any statutory rights that cannot legally be excluded.
9. Shipping and Delivery
Orders will be dispatched to the delivery address supplied during checkout.
Please ensure your delivery information is complete and accurate before placing your order.
Delivery times shown on the website are estimates unless expressly stated otherwise.
We are not responsible for delays caused by postal services, couriers, customs processes, severe weather or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.
However, this does not affect any rights you may have under applicable consumer law where goods are not delivered within the legally required period.
10. International Orders
International customers are responsible for ensuring that products ordered through this website can legally be imported into their destination country.
Depending on the destination and the arrangements stated at checkout, an international order may be subject to customs procedures, import taxes, duties or other charges.
Where such charges are not collected at checkout, they may be payable by the recipient.
We are not responsible for customs delays or charges imposed by authorities in the destination country.
11. Cancellations and Change of Mind
For eligible purchases made online, UK consumers generally have a statutory right to cancel within 14 days of receiving the goods, subject to certain exceptions.
If you exercise an applicable cancellation right, you must notify us within the required cancellation period.
Unless the goods are faulty or we agree otherwise, you may be responsible for the cost of returning unwanted goods.
Returned products should be handled with reasonable care and returned in appropriate condition.
Certain products may be excluded from change-of-mind cancellation rights, including goods made to your specifications or clearly personalised for you.
Different rules may also apply to digital content where you have requested immediate supply and provided the legally required consent and acknowledgement.
12. Damaged, Faulty or Incorrect Orders
If your order arrives damaged, faulty, incorrect or materially different from its description, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible.
Please provide:
your order number;
your name;
details of the problem; and
photographs of the product and packaging where relevant.
We will review the issue and, where required by law, arrange an appropriate remedy, which may include a replacement, repair or refund.
Your statutory rights under UK consumer law are not affected by this policy.
13. Lost Orders
If you believe your order has been lost in transit, please contact us.
We may need to investigate the shipment with the relevant postal or courier service before arranging a replacement or refund.
Please note that an order being marked as dispatched does not remove any legal responsibility we may have for ensuring goods reach consumers.
14. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise stated, all original content on this website is owned by or licensed to Rebecca Dale Publishing.
This includes, where applicable:
book-related content;
written material;
branding;
graphics;
promotional material;
character artwork;
downloadable material; and
other original creative content.
Book covers and commissioned artwork may contain intellectual property belonging to or licensed from third-party artists, designers or other rights holders.
Nothing on this website grants you permission to reproduce or commercially use this content.
15. Books and Fictional Content
Rebecca Dale writes fiction intended for an adult audience.
Books promoted or sold through this website may contain mature, explicit, disturbing or potentially triggering themes.
Where available, readers are encouraged to review content information or content warnings before purchasing or reading.
Individual reactions to fictional content are subjective and do not, by themselves, mean that a product is faulty or not as described.
16. Third-Party Websites and Services
This website may contain links to third-party websites or services, including booksellers, social media platforms, payment processors and other external services.
We are not responsible for the content, availability, privacy practices or terms of third-party websites.
Purchases made through third-party retailers are subject to that retailer's own terms, policies and procedures.
17. Promotions and Discount Codes
Promotional offers and discount codes may be subject to additional conditions.
Unless otherwise stated, discount codes:
cannot be exchanged for cash;
cannot usually be applied retrospectively;
may have an expiry date; and
may be limited to particular products or customers.
We reserve the right to withdraw or amend promotions where reasonably necessary.
18. Limitation of Liability
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer law.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was formed or for business losses arising from purchases made primarily for personal use.
19. Privacy
Personal information provided through this website will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Information may be shared with service providers where necessary to process payments, fulfil orders, deliver products or operate the website.
20. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions occasionally to reflect changes to the website, our products, our business practices or applicable law.
The version that applies to an order will normally be the version in effect when that order was placed.
The latest version will be published on this website with an updated revision date.
21. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer, you will also retain any mandatory protections and rights available to you under applicable consumer law.
22. Contact
