Returns & Refunds Policy

We hope you love your order from Rebecca Dale Publishing. However, if something isn’t right, please read the information below regarding cancellations, returns, damaged items and refunds.

Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

Change-of-Mind Returns

If you are a UK consumer purchasing an eligible physical product online, you generally have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving it.

To exercise this right, please contact us within 14 days of receiving your order and clearly state that you wish to cancel.

You then have a further 14 days to return the item.

Unless the item is faulty, damaged, incorrect or not as described, you are responsible for the cost of returning it.

Returned items should be appropriately packaged and kept in good condition while in your possession. We may make a deduction from your refund if an item has been handled beyond what would reasonably be necessary to inspect it and its value has been reduced as a result.

Signed Books

A book being signed by the author alone does not automatically mean it cannot be returned.

Where a signed book has not been specifically personalised or made to your individual specifications, normal statutory cancellation rights may still apply.

Personalised Items

Items that have been specifically personalised for you, such as books containing a requested name, dedication or other bespoke personalisation, are generally not eligible for change-of-mind returns.

Please check all names, spellings and personalisation requests carefully before placing your order.

This exclusion does not apply where an item is faulty, damaged, incorrect or not as described.

Special Editions

Special-edition books, sprayed-edge editions and other limited products are not automatically excluded from statutory cancellation rights simply because they are limited editions.

If the item is not personalised or otherwise covered by a legal exception, normal cancellation rights may apply.

Please note that small variations in sprayed edges, foiling, print placement, colour or other hand-finished/manufactured features can occur between copies and will not necessarily constitute a fault.

Pre-Orders

You may request cancellation of an eligible pre-order before it has been dispatched.

Once an eligible physical pre-order has been delivered, normal statutory cancellation rights apply unless the product falls within an applicable exception, such as a clearly personalised item.

If we are unable to fulfil your pre-order, you will receive a refund for the affected item.

Damaged, Faulty or Incorrect Items

If your order arrives damaged, faulty, incorrect or not as described, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible.

Please include:

  • Your name

  • Your order number

  • A description of the issue

  • Clear photographs of the item

  • Photographs of the packaging where relevant

We will review the issue and provide the appropriate remedy in accordance with your statutory rights. Depending on the circumstances, this may include a replacement, repair or refund.

Where an item is faulty, damaged, incorrect or not as described, we will not require you to bear return costs where we are legally responsible for them.

Minor Book Imperfections

Books can occasionally have very minor manufacturing variations, particularly special editions featuring sprayed edges, foiling or other specialist finishes.

Tiny variations that do not materially affect the appearance, quality or usability of the book may not constitute damage or a fault.

Significant damage — such as badly crushed corners, substantial tears, major printing defects or other material damage — should be reported to us.

Delivery Damage

Please photograph both the book and its packaging if your parcel arrives damaged.

This helps us assess the issue and, where necessary, make a claim with the delivery provider.

Please do not dispose of damaged packaging until we have confirmed that it is no longer required.

Lost or Missing Orders

If your order has not arrived within the expected delivery period, please contact us.

We may need to investigate the parcel with the relevant postal or courier service.

Where goods are considered lost and we remain legally responsible for delivery, we will arrange an appropriate replacement or refund.

Incorrect Delivery Address

Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address when placing an order.

If you notice an error before your order has been dispatched, please contact us as soon as possible and we will try to update it.

We cannot guarantee that an address can be changed once fulfilment has begun.

If an order is returned to us because an incorrect or incomplete address was provided, additional postage may be required before the order can be resent.

This does not affect any rights you may have where the delivery problem was caused by us.

Digital Products

Different cancellation rules apply to digital content.

Where you expressly request immediate access to digital content and acknowledge that you will lose your statutory cancellation right once supply begins, refunds will not normally be available simply because you have changed your mind after receiving or accessing the digital product.

If a digital product is faulty, inaccessible or materially different from its description, please contact us so that we can investigate.

Your statutory rights relating to digital content are not affected.

Return Shipping

If you are returning an item because you have changed your mind, you are responsible for the return postage unless otherwise agreed.

We strongly recommend obtaining proof of postage.

Please package returned books securely to prevent damage during transit.

If we are responsible for the return because an item is faulty, damaged, incorrect or not as described, we will provide appropriate instructions regarding return postage.

Please contact us before returning an item so that we can provide the correct return instructions.

Refunds

Once an eligible return has been received, or where a refund has otherwise been agreed, refunds will be processed using the original payment method unless otherwise agreed or permitted by law.

For a valid cancellation under UK consumer cancellation rules, refunds will be made within the legally required timeframe.

Where applicable, the refund will include the standard outbound delivery charge. If you selected a more expensive delivery method than our standard option, we are not required to refund the additional delivery cost.

Please allow additional time for your bank or payment provider to process the refund after it has been issued.

International Customers

Customers outside the UK may have additional consumer rights under the laws of their country or region.

Nothing in this policy is intended to remove rights that cannot legally be excluded.

For change-of-mind international returns, customers are generally responsible for return shipping costs unless otherwise required by applicable law.

Purchases Made Elsewhere

This policy applies only to products purchased directly through the Rebecca Dale website/store.

If you purchased a Rebecca Dale book through Amazon, a bookshop, an event retailer or another third-party seller, your purchase is subject to that retailer’s returns and refund procedures.

Please contact the retailer from whom you purchased the item.
